Application in the Lifting pump of  waterworks

Summary

The water supply system is a important public facility in modern life and production process. How to improve the safety and reliability of water supply is a urgent problem at present.

A Guizhou waterworks plan to expand the water supply to meet the development demand. They adopt the IDrive2000 MV VFD to control the One - level lifting pump and two - level lifting pump.

Control plan

1. The control system include the pressure sensor, PLC and MV VFD.

2. The pressure sensor test the water pressure of pipe network, transfer the pressure value to 4~20mA current or 0~10V voltage signal, then feedback the data to VFD.

3. The VFD can adjust the running speed of water pump between 0~50Hz, ensure the constant demand of water pressure.

Benefit analysis

1.    Reduce the starting current, extend the motor’s service life

2.    Keep the constant value of water pressure, avoid pipe burst.

3.    Increase the energy saving to 20%

4.    Increase Power factor from 0.89 to 0.98
